SCA Barista Skills Foundation
The Barista Skills Foundation course focuses on the key skills required to set a grinder, make espresso and foam, and texture milk for cappuccinos. This course allows one to gain an introductory understanding of the coffee itself and set a foundation from which to build practical skills for milk technique and latte art, while implementing health and safety practices and customer service.
*Please note that these course fees are subject to courses held in South Africa only. Any courses held outside of South Africa will be charged at standard local fees.
Requirements: No experience required. This course is for beginners, cafe owners and managers or baristas who want to build on existing skills.
Certification: An online written exam consisting of 20 questions is required with a required passing score of 60%. Upon successful completion a certification is awarded as well as 5 CSP points towards a Diploma in Coffee from the SCA.
Course Duration: 2 days (09:00 - 15:00 daily)
Participants: 2 - 4 max
Included: Lunch will be served on training days. Usage of machinery and all relevant ingredients.
