Winston Thomas started working in coffee in 2014. During his engineering studies he grew a curious interest in coffee. This interest quickly developed into a passion which he pursued after graduating.
After working for some of the top roasteries in South Africa, toured the country working as a guest barista in numerous cafes and having participated in two World Barista Championships as the South African Barista Champion Winston decided to start a business of his own.
Using his network and experience, Winston has teamed up with a group of like-minded coffee professionals to provide coffee related training as well as services such as equipment supply and start up consultation.
Why Winston Douglas?
After, using the name Winston Douglas for social media usernames, many people within the coffee industry assumed that Douglas was his surname, so the name stuck. Douglas is in fact his second name, after his late grandfather with whom he also shares a birthday.
